Dubai confirms the name of a metro station on the Blue Line

Dubai continues to transform its urban landscape with the ambitious development of the blue metro line, a strategic project that will redefine transport in the emirate. As construction work progresses, One of the most iconic stations on this line has just been officially named: Emaar Properties Station.

A station at the heart of the new urban mobility

Scheduled to be opened in 2029, the Dubai Metro’s Blue Line will stretch for 30 km and will amount to 14 stations spread across nine key neighbourhoods in the city. Among these stations, the one that will serve Dubai Creek Harbour is set to become a major architectural and functional landmark.

Top of 74 metres and wide 38 metres, this station will become the highest metro station in the world. Designed to evoke the image of a gateway to the future, it will blend seamlessly into the modern and innovative urban environment of the Dubai Creek Harbour district.

Emaar secures the naming rights for ten years

The name «Emaar Properties Station» was chosen to honour the partnership between the emirate and the renowned property developer Emaar, recognised worldwide for its flagship projects such as the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Emaar has acquired the name rights for an initial period of ten years, from the official opening of the station.

This decision is not without significance: the station will mainly serve the 40,000 residents expected at Dubai Creek Harbour, as well as thousands of visitors who will pass through this rapidly expanding area every day. Once operational, the station is expected to welcome up to 160,000 passengers, with an estimated average attendance of 70,000 passengers a day.

An inspired and functional design

The design of Emaar Properties Station was conceived as a symbolic bridge, combining contemporary aesthetics and functional efficiency. The building will occupy an an area of 11,000 m² and will incorporate the most advanced technologies to ensure a smooth flow of passengers whilst offering optimum comfort.

The architectural design also reflects Dubai’s ambition to combine smart mobility with a strong urban identity. This station will thus become a real landmark in the Dubai Creek Harbour landscape, enhancing the appeal of this rapidly developing neighbourhood.

A project that forms part of a long-term vision

The blue metro line, the development of which is being led by the RTA (Roads and Transport Authority), is one of the major infrastructure projects planned in the Dubai Master Plan 2040. The aim is to connect the new urban centres more effectively, to to reduce reliance on private cars and from to promote sustainable and inclusive mobility.
