Dubai is injecting 1 billion dirhams to support its businesses

Dubaï injecte 1 milliard de dirhams pour soutenir ses entreprises

The Dubai government has just announced a major economic support package. Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has unveiled a one-billion-dirham fund for the private sector, a decision taken at the latest meeting of the Executive Council.

This announcement comes against a backdrop of favourable economic conditions for the emirate. Dubai’s GDP has shown robust growth of 5.41 per cent in the third quarter, exceeding 937 billion dirhams. These figures reflect the vitality of a diversified economy that continues to attract international investors.

A roll-out spread over six months

The support scheme will come into force on 1 April. Its implementation will take place over a period of three to six months, allowing for a gradual and measured approach. This timeframe gives businesses time to adapt to the new measures and make the best use of the available funds.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that these measures are aimed at «strengthening the economy’s resilience, preparedness and agility». The objective goes beyond mere financial support: the emirate is seeking to consolidate its position as a regional economic hub whilst maintaining its appeal to entrepreneurs.

A comprehensive strategy for economic stability

The initiative forms part of a broader approach to maintaining the confidence of economic stakeholders. The private sector, the backbone of Dubai’s economy, will benefit from a stronger environment in which to tackle the challenges of the global market.

«Our message remains clear: Dubai remains committed to supporting individuals, families and businesses with confidence and stability,» said the Crown Prince. This statement reflects a strong political commitment to preserving the entrepreneurial ecosystem for which the emirate is renowned.

Institutional strength driving growth

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted two of Dubai’s key strengths: the strength of its institutions and the cohesion of its business community. These structural factors form the foundations upon which the emirate’s ability to turn challenges into opportunities rests.

Dubai’s economy has demonstrated its resilience in the face of international turmoil. Its diversified economic base, combining financial services, trade, tourism and technological innovation, enables it to maintain a sustained growth trajectory.

A proven business-friendly environment

This injection of liquidity underlines Dubai’s strategy of actively supporting the private sector. For decades, the emirate has been fostering a business-friendly environment, combining streamlined administrative procedures, modern infrastructure and an attractive tax policy.

Companies based in Dubai will thus be able to enhance their competitiveness and their ability to adapt to market changes. This flexibility is becoming a competitive advantage in an ever-changing global economic landscape.

The announced plan is aimed at large companies as well as SMEs and sole traders. This inclusive approach reflects the authorities’ commitment to preserving the diversity of the economic fabric, from tech start-ups to international groups established in the emirate.

Dubai’s economic growth of 5.4% has exceeded the forecasts of many analysts. This economic momentum justifies the authorities’ optimism and their ability to invest heavily in supporting businesses.
